     Archpriest Dr. Georgios LEKKAS

Archpriest Dr. Georgios Lekkas has studied Law (Ptychion in the Faculty of Law of the University of Athens, 1987), Philosophy (Ptychion from the Philosophical School of the University of Athens, 1994) and Theology (Ptychion from the Theological School of the University of Athens, 2016) . D.E.A. of the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne in the History of Ancient Greek Philosophy (1989). Doctor of Hellenic Studies from the University of Paris-Sorbonne (1996). His thesis was published under the title Freedom and Progression according to Origen in French by the Brepols publishing house (2001). Post-doctoral studies (1999-2004) at the National Research Institute of France (CNRS, UMR 8485 Center). The fruit of this work was the composition of a monograph, which has been published in Greek, on the subject of Plotinus cosmology titled Plotinus; on the metaphysics of how (Athens, Papazissis publishing house, 2009). He has lectured on Ancient Greek Philosophy in the Literature Department of the University of Peloponnese (2007-2011) as part of its undergraduate syllabus, and he has also lectured on Moral Philosophy as part of the post-graduate syllabus of the same university (2009-2012). Since 2005 till 2017 he has been serving as member of SEP (teaching staff under private work contracts) the Hellenic Open University under the thematic unit ELP 22 (Greek Philosophy and Science from the Antiquity to the 20th century) as a part of the Studies in Hellenic Civilisation Ptychion. He belongs to the corps of clerics of the Holy Diocese of Dimitriada and Almiros as an unpaid cleric of the Greek Orthodox Church. In October 2014 he was send in Brussels to work in the Greek Representation in EU as part of the representative staff of Greek Education Minister and specially in the field of Religion as Advisor of the Representation Office of the Church of Greece in E.U. He is married to Dental Surgeon Eleni Saltapida and they have a daughter born in 1998. He knows French (C2), English (C1) and German (B1). Four collections of his poems have been published in Greek.
